Rare Antique Hubley Art Deco Cast Iron Doorstop Tiger Ringmaster Ann Fish Yellow

Hubley Foundry doorstop of a Ringmaster Gentleman with a feather in his hat. REFERENCE: The Doorstop Book by John and Nancy Smith pg 212. Designed by English Illustrator Anne Fish. Signed, Fish & Numbered 269 (tough to read, but it is there). Measures approximately 9.5″ tall with feather x base approximately 4.5″ wide x 1.5 deep. I have taken a number of pictures so youe can see ith has wear and missing paint. Still a lovely item to add to your collection. I did not see many with the yellow jacket, so this color may be a bit rarer than the green. We try to describe our items as best we can and take pictures to help you see any issues we describe. Low maintenance old ancient pet reptile. Measures 15 inches long if you follow the curves and. It is solid cast iron. Smooth casting not sharp and grainy. Like most cast iron you see up in here. Patina, numbered on bottom 142 and weighs almost. One of the pins that holds the bottom jaw. Is severed, see pics. Antique Cast Iron House of Seven Gables Doorstop

Antique Cast Iron House of Seven Gables Doorstop. Rather rare & desirable doorstop designed by Sarah Symonds. Shown in “The Doorstop Book” By John & Nancy Smith on page 235. The House of the Seven Gables is a colonial mansion in Salem, Massachusetts. The House was built in 1668 by Captain John Turner. The mansion was made famous by Nathaniel Hawthorne’s book, “The House of Seven Gables” written in 1850. The Book’s Setting was inspired by Hawthorne’s cousin Susanna Ingersoll who once owned the house and by Hawthorne’s other ancestors who had played a role in the Salem Witch Trials of 1692. Sarah Symonds once had a gift shop across from the House of Seven Gables. This Doorstop was made to commemorate its restoration in 1909. Very good to excellent condition with minor paint loss. All original, has not been re-touched. Measures 8 1/2 inches long, 4 3/4 inches tall and weighs 6.2 lbs. Doorstop Cast Iron Lobster. Vintage Exceptionally Rare

This is one of the holly grails for cast iron doorstops. Great large size casting of lobster half emerged from base, colored red overall, very desirable. Measures approximately 12 1/2″ x 6 1/2″, and weighs over 8 lbs. Some wear and fading to paint, but overall very good condition. The posted photographs are an important part of the physical description. I have taken photographs indoors with a flash and outdoors under natural light, so you can see the colors under different lighting conditions.
