Orig 1930s Cast Iron Bobby Jones Golfer Studio Doorstop Decorative Art Statue
Antique 1930s Cast Iron Decorative Art Statue. Trophy marked as follows. Wonderful old multi color painted surface. Very rare hard to find piece made to commemorate. His winning of the’Grand Slam’ in 1930. Whimsical big head golfer in knickers and bowtie. Fabulous piece to proudly display in your collection. Backside hard to read, two words. First we can not make out, second is studio. These were originally made into ashtray by bolting. An ashtray onto the front, this appears to have never. Please view all twelve pictures to appreciate the piece. Exhibits some minor wear associated with age and use. Cast iron decorative art weighs approximately 5 lb 6 oz. Measures approximately 1 1/2″ deep by 6 1/4″ wide by 12 tall. Piece sits upright fine but would tip over if used as doorstop. Wonderful scarce rare hard to find original old piece. Vintage cast iron black cat door stop turn of century
This gorgeous extremely rare vintage piece was my great uncles who passed in 2010, he was a collector of antiques. I know it’s old and weighs about 16 lbs. I can not find any markings on it, but as you can see in the pictures it has some rust on the bottom. It has not been painted, touched up or altered in anyway. I did take a dry cloth to wipe off dust that is it! I have carefully researched this cat door stop, it is a highly sought after collectible, the pictures will help tell the story.
