Antique Hubley Gem Rarer Left Facing Boston Bull Terrier Cast Iron Door Stop

Truly a Classic, Hubley’s Left Facing Boston Terrier or Bulldog Cast Iron Door Stop. Approx: 9.75″ H x 9.5″ L, 6.5 lbs. Authentic from Extensive Cast Iron Collector’s Treasured Stock. One of Hubley’s most iconic Stops and cast iron productions. The left facing ones like this are quite a bit rarer maybe 1/10 are facing left. This cute little guy has a few blips and dings to paint but still a great piece with vintage look. We noticed a small (maybe 1/8″ x 1/4″) production hole in back of dog’s neck, but it does not effect the appeal of item. We only noticed it while taking pics as it blends in with paint misses, its just above shoulder near center (see last picture in gallery). This is a hollow core cast iron doorstop, but still heavy at roughly 6.5 lbs. We are pricing far below most of this style listed. We are not sure of the exact age, but this appears to be an earlier one from Hubley. This was owned by a very high end and selective cast iron (and other items) collector with some of his pieces worth into the several thousands. If the metal looks a little rough or the paint is too good to be true, its probably a knock off. Also, the detail should be refined as on our piece, where you can even see his whiskers. VINTAGE Cast Iron JOCKO LAWN JOCKEY Door Stop

VINTAGE CAST IRON JOCKO LAWN JOCKEY. This was my grandmother’s lawn jockey and was utilized as a door stop in her kitchen for many years. Now it is ready to find a new home. Fantastic original American lawn jockey portraying Jocko Graves a famous 12 year-old boy. Wearing his worn paint, this Jocko hitching post offers a glimpse into the past and history around the figure. It is an original cast iron door stop and stands about 11.5 tall. Overall very good condition with some age wear/marks. Please see the photos for details. BACKGROUND: A lawn jockey is a small statue of a man in jockey attire, intended to be placed in yards. Most today are white jockeys, but historically black jockeys were commonplace. The lawn ornament, popular in certain parts of the United States in years past, was a cast replica, usually about half-scale, of a black man dressed in jockey’s clothing and holding up one hand as though taking the reins of a horse. The hand sometimes carries a lantern or a metal ring suitable for hitching a horse. This includes additional photos and details regarding this item. Antique Greenblatt Studios Cast Iron Cat Art Doorstop Kitten Home Studio Tool

This is an original Greenblatt Studios cast iron cat doorstop. It has some silver paint highlighting areas giving it almost a kind of glow. I love the way it peers of to the right admitting guilt for some recent mischief completed. These go for big dollars but I will be reasonable.
