ANTIQUE HUBLEY SOLID CAST IRON COCKER SPANIEL DOG DOORSTOP ART 5 lbs 7 in long
ANTIQUE HUBLEY SOLID CAST IRON COCKER SPANIEL DOG DOORSTOP. This lovely dog weighs 5 lbs and is 7 inches long by 4 inches high at head by about 2 inches wide. The paint is all original (no touch-ups) and in very good condition overall, with a few isolated spots that have worn thin or chipped off (see photos). Details are clear and sharp, including the red collar, red line of the mouth, and black eyes with white and red highlights. The wavy fur is nicely detailed as well. On the bottom of each foot is an adhesive felt pad to prevent scratching surfaces, but these are easily removable if desired. An extremely good specimen of this highly collectible Hubley door stop. This dog is from the collection of Leo Heinige, former founder of a now closed antique shop called The Button Box in Storrs, CT. Please check photos carefully and ask if you have any questions. Fabulous Albany Foundry Solid Cast Iron Parrot. This is a beautiful and solid Cast Iron Tropical Parrot Bird Doorstop made by the Albany Foundry between 1910 and 1940. It is in sturdy condition with some paint loss as shown and nice aged patina. He measures 7 1/4 inches tall and 3 1/2 inches around the base. This doorstop weighs about 3 1/4 pounds.
