If you were ever a child….. You would have loved these shows… This is a nostalgiac blast from the past in excellent original condition. Many of these cast iron doorstops of this period have been repainted by enthusiasts but this one has remained in its original glory having been very well looked after. Please see all photos. MR PUNCH, with his red nose and cheek, yellow ruffle collar, green suit, red hat with gold crown… Blue dots in a line up it….. Holding a cream feather quill pen, sitting in a green chair with a brown dog with cream feather in his hat, sitting besides a pile of coloured books. Such a lot of detail to be seen… Flesh coloured leg and base with a dark green edge. The back is silver painted. Some original painted Mr. Punch doorstops are of differing colour ways… Giving the artist some freedom of choice. This colourway, for me, is superb….. Just enough contrast but not too garish! Condition: please see photos…. Few nibbles to the paint but in excellent antique condition commensurate with age. Measurements: 12 1/4 height x 9 wide x 3 1/2 deep.
