Antique Cast Iron Sleeping Cat Doorstop Circa Early 1900’s By Hubley

This adorable cast iron sleeping cat with mat weighs approximately 20 pounds and measures 12″x10″. These do not come up often, but it is my understanding that these were made in the early 1900s by Hubley, although it is not signed there’s many examples of these made by Hubley that were not signed according to John and Nancy Smith. An Encyclopedia of Doorstop Collecting with Price Guide. Authors John and Nancy Smith. John and Nancy Smith whom are widely recognized authorities on doorstops and figural cast iron. They have been avid collectors for over forty years and they are well known dealers specializing in Cast Iron, Folk Art, and Country Americana. Rare Vintage Antique Sleeping Cat Cast Iron Door Stop Fireplace circa 1930’s

This is a rare sleeping cat doorstop. This kitty has a nice ribbon collar and was made by the National Foundry. It is a hollow form doorstop that has nice aged patina. Paint is gone, but it has remnants of being painted black in years past. I will allow the new owner to decide if they want to repaint or not. It measures 9 1/2″ x 6″ x 3.25 and weighs. Antique Hubley Dog Cast Iron Doorstop Scotty #305, Age Circa 1920

ITEM: ANTIQUE HUBLEY DOG CAST IRON DOORSTOP. The length is 11 inches. The height is 8 1/4 inches. The age is circa 1920. Made of cast iron by the Hubley Manufacturing Company Lancaster Pennsylvania. The dog retains the original cream colored paint with intermittent paint chips and oxidation. This item is in used condition. You will find normal wear and use marks that is consistent with age. Cast Iron Antique 14 Cockatoo on Perch Doorstop circa 1920

The figural piece measures 14 in height and is in the form of a cockatoo perched on a branch. The impressive bird retains a little of the original paint, circa 1920’s, and has a nice worn patina. It is in excellent condition and very heavy, weighing 12.5 pounds. It does not appear to have a maker’s signature. A great item to add to any collection of vintage cast iron door stops. Antique French Girl Hubley doorstop, circa 1925, 9+ inches

Offered here is a very collectible Hubley doorstop. It is the cast iron “French Girl” and it is marked “23” on the backside. This doorstop is highly prized. Take a good look at the photos. The paint is in very good condition with some age appropriate wear. As you can see from the photos she has had a very gentile life with no face plants. Cast iron with a painted finish. Offered here is a very collectible Judd doorstop. It is the cast iron and manufactured by Judd Manufacturing Co and is marked “1242” on the backside. This doorstop is very collectable. Take a good look at the photos. Cast iron with a painted finish. Age appropriate wear but paint looks great and is all original. I have added a protective felt to the bottom.
