This adorable cast iron sleeping cat with mat weighs approximately 20 pounds and measures 12″x10″. These do not come up often, but it is my understanding that these were made in the early 1900s by Hubley, although it is not signed there’s many examples of these made by Hubley that were not signed according to John and Nancy Smith. They have been avid collectors for over forty years and they are well known dealers specializing in Cast Iron, Folk Art, and Country Americana. I have a few other cast iron doorstops and/or paper weights. Here is a very nice vintage cast iron 10 sitting cat doorstop. This weighs a bit over 7lbs unboxed. The paint has wear, but it’s not too bad really. I could not find any markings. There may be some under the felt, but I didn’t see any with what is exposed. I’ve seen this style doorstop listed as being from the 1880s-1890s or so. I’m not sure, but it without question has some age! Please see pics for more details. I HAVE NO CONTROL OVER IT. VOTE TO CHANGE THINGS! I USUALLY HAVE DIFFERENT CHOICES.

Up for sale is an extremely rare antique solid cast iron figural doorstop made the second half of the 19th century. The stop is in the form of an armed Scottish soldier standing on a platform base with his hand propped on the rock background. It’s made of very thick iron, is extremely heavy, and has acquired a lovely patina from age. The casting is an exceedingly rare form. In nice antique condition and measures 14 3/4 inches tall by 12 1/2 inches wide by 3 inches back to front. Thank you for visiting “Dusty Treasures ” and please feel free to browse through.
