VTG Cast Iron Door Stop / Lamp Horses & Carriage Painted Spanora PS-4-E 1930s

A heavy, large cast metal horse-drawn carriage or stage coach with 2 horses and a driver. Originally a cast iron lamp and now a lovely shelf piece or a door stop. The lamp socket and wires and the tinted glass window panes have been removed, and at some point the metal was tastefully hand painted entirely in black with white, gold, green, and red details. Most likely made in the 1930s and hand painted in the 1950s or 1960s. Spanora made some unusual, Art Deco style metal lamps in the 1920s and 1930s. Measures 16 3/4 long x 7 1/2 high x 2 1/2 deep. Weighs 4 lbs 4 oz. In good preowned condition. Original lamp parts and glass windows were fully removed at some point and are not included. The little metal pieces that held the glass in place in the back are still there but are straightened and painted over. The black paint covers the entire piece, including the bottom. Not much wear on the paint. There is minor oxidation or rust on the bottom and edges, but no disintegration in the paint or the metal. See images for details. 1930-40s Vintage Cast Iron Scotty Terrier Dogs Door Stop Lamp

1930-40s vintage cast iron Scotty terrier dogs door stop lamp with clip-on pleated paper shade. Engraved on the back of the lamp is 157 NSM Co. The image of the two leaning terriers was believed to be part of Texacos 1930 listen ad campaign. The bent ear image is the one used by Texaco in its ad campaign. The vintage clip-on pleated paper lamp shade has a green-orange-brown small floral patterned design. Lamp shade has no tears or holes but shows signs of use and wear with some of the green edging along the bottom of the shade missing (see photos). The missing edging is not readily noticeable however. Lamp has new wiring including a brass socket with pull chain and vintage-inspired twisted coffee-blend colored cotton cord with black end plug. Lamp base has been repainted in brown with ebony accents. Lamp with shade measures 13-1/2 tall; base is 3 deep and 9 wide; shade is 6 tall, top 4 deep and 5-3/4 wide, bottom is 6 deep and 8-1/2 wide. A 40 watt LED standard base style light bulb is included and recommended to prevent the shade from getting too hot. This is a beautiful, unique lamp. As a side note, this lamp is often referred to as a vintage desk lamp, vintage table lamp, figural lamp, 1930s lamp, 1940s lamp, art deco lamp, art nouveau lamp, collectible lamp.
