Rare CAST IRON Doorstop LEXINGTON, MASS. Revolutionary Monument Doorstop

Only seen this piece a few times in my many years in business – this cast iron doorstop of the Minute – Man Monument in Lexington, Massachusetts. Marked on reverse as being made by Winlock Reproductions – originally Cast in 1925. History on this monument includes the following. It stands at the southeast corner of the Lexington Battle Green, facing the route of the British advance. Originally a functioning drinking fountain and watering place for men, horses, cattle and dogs, it was unveiled on April 19, 1900, the 125th anniversary of the battle. Very unique – again I’ve only seen a few of these in my many years in business – paint is old. Measures 7 7/8″ long by 5 3/4″ inches tall. Here is a very rare original antique Nichols House cast iron doorstop that is beautifully painted and signed by the artist Sarah W. Symonds from Salem, Mass. This example is in extraordinary original condition with pristine untouched original paint. It measures 7 3/8″ tall by 8 1/2″ wide and weighs 7.25 lbs. All reasonable offers considered. Early 1900’s Cast Iron Fisherman Doorstop 15 tall 13 lbs. From MASS summer home

This Cast Iron Old Salt Door Stop comes from my parents Scituate, Mass Summer Home and dates back over 75 years at least! This doorstop looks as if it could be used as a bank too by the slit in the bank. 15 inches tall and approximately 13 pounds. There is a name on the top of the base, I just can not read it as it’s been eroded from salt it seems like. The paint is in EXCELLENT condition.
