Vintage Horse Drawn Carriage Cast Iron Doorstop. Made by Spencer Foundry in Guilford, Connecticut. This horse drawn carriage doorstop is marked “SPENCER GUILDFORD CONN” on the back. It has a wedge with the notches on top, typical of Spencer Foundry. Measures approximately 6-1/8″ long x 2-1/4″ deep x 3-1/2 tall. This is a vintage piece. There are chips to the paint in multiple locations.

We are offering for sale an antique Cast Iron BABY CROSSING GUARD Doorstop. Made by the Spencer Foundry in Guilford, CT. Base is 6 x 6. Condition is very good. No damage or breaks noted. Original paint shows age-correct wear, patina. We are unsure what this was originally meant for. The top of the dogs head has a 1/2 threaded piece with screw on cover. ORIGINAL PAPER LABEL INTACT! RARE Antique ORIGINAL Spencer Guillford’PELICAN’ Cast Iron DOORSTOP Door Stop

ORIGINAL ANTIQUE SPENCER GUILFORD CT CAST IRON PELICAN DOORSTOP. This is just a great original piece. This is one of those pieces I would love to add to my personal collection but truthfully, I dont collect door stops and think this is a piece that belongs in a real collection. This is one of the rarest doorstops created by Spencer Guilford. Standing 14 1/2 inches tall and measuring about 7 inches from tip of beak to tail it is really a very good example. Marked at the pelican’s ankle with the Spencer Guilford CT mark, the original paint is still incredibly strong. There is some areas of loss with the lighter under paint showing through. There is also some discoloration to the white of the body but again, nothing too bad. Pictures are a great indication of the quality and condition. Do your own research. Dont miss this chance.
