RARE LATE 19TH-EARLY 20TH CENTURY ORIGINAL, AUTHENTIC ANTIQUE SANTA CLAUS CAST IRON DOORSTOP, W/ORIGINAL PAINT. Antique American cast iron painted figurative doorstops. 3 ½ ” Width x 7″ Height x 2 Depth. All original, estate fresh and with its original painted surfaces. Unbastardized, untouched and undisturbed. This is the real McCoy and not a more recent contemporary facsimile or worthless reproduction. The original painted surfaces and their distressed quality, suffering paint loss and a fatigued finish, is entirely congruent with its original, authentic, honest antique pedigree. HUBLEY LATE 19TH C ORIG ANTIQUE CAST IRON COLOR PEACOCK DOORSTOP, WithORIG PAINT

RARE & NEAR MINT COLORFUL HUBLEY CAST IRON ” STYLIZED PEACOCK ” DOORSTOP DOOR STOP! Highly Sought After Treasure in almost Perfect Condition with Original Paint, this Antique Doorstop was made by the Hubley Manufacturing Company of Lancaster, PA in the 1920’s – 1930’s. Hubley made these in two sizes, one taller and narrower, and one shorter and wider. This one is the shorter and wider version. It measures 6 1/4″ tall and 6 1/2″ wide and is made of solid cast iron, which makes it weigh over 5 pounds! This doorstop came in several color variations, but this one, in the majestic Royal Blue, Gold, Orange and Green, is the most favored. It appears in this size and coloration in Jeanne Bertoia’s book ” Doorstops “. It also appears in this coloration in John and Nancy Smith’s ” The Doorstop Book “, but in the slightly taller and narrower version (7 1/8″ X 5 1/4″). RARE LATE 19TH C 12’PUNCH & JUDY’ (UK) CAST IRON DOOR STOP C. 1880 WithORIG PAINT

RARE LATE 19TH CENTURY LARGE, 12’PUNCH & JUDY’ (UK) CAST IRON DOOR STOP, C. 1880, W/ORIGINAL COLOR ENAMEL PAINTED SURFACES. 12″ Height x 9″ Width x 3 ½ Depth. Original painted enamel surfaces. Only dusted, rinsed with tepid water and then quickly dried with a soft cotton cloth and then oiled to prevent oxidation to the cast iron surfaces. It was originally filthy and covered with dust, grime and sediment. It had to be cleaned in order to photograph and allow the viewer to see its honest surfaces. There are some minor episodes of oxidation, which only prove that the piece is in fact an original, period one and not a reproduction and which, still features its original color painted surfaces. There are no repairs or damage to report. It’s stunning, exceedingly rare and in about more or less the same condition it was in, oh say, about 135-140 yrs ago, which in and of itself is simply remarkable. Found along with another black painted door stop from the same estate on the North Shore of MA. Honest, straight and as right as rain. Magnificent & top shelf. In considerably well preserved overall antique condition. Quite a rare feat to find a large painted’Punch and Judy’ 12 cast iron doorstop, with its original painted enamel finish. Antique 1920’s HUBLEY CAST IRON HORSE DOOR STOP FIGURINE withORIG COLD PAINT TOY

This is a two piece cast iron horse and has the original screws to hold the pieces together. Horse has the original cold paint. Overall condition is very nice for its age. Has some wear to the paint as seen in the photos. The cast iron has no cracks, small chip on one of the ears, no other chips or broken pieces and no repairs. 10 1/2″ tall by 12 1/8″ long. Weight is 6 1/2 pounds unpacked. Rare Hubley cast iron toy and is a must for any collector. Found at a recent 90 year estate and has been safely stored away. The glare spots are from the lights reflection and NOT on the actual surface of the item(color is great). Tough item to find and is a must for any collector. I have taken detailed photos to show you the detail of this original item. Please see my other auctions for other great vintage items from the same estate.
