This novelty “Old Salt” New England fisherman cast iron door stop is from early 1900’s and it still has its original paint. This one is very different from ALL the others you see out there. I just can’t find this exact one with white long net and legs that are straight. Bottom as well does not have velvet but is painted back in the day. It’s a shame that the paint on the top of the nose is missing but restoration can be done using mechanical paint but I prefer things left as they are, worn in time. If you love collecting unique antiques this one is a treasure.
