Two wonderful antique puppies, cast iron w original paint from Hubley. Originally black and white but with aged patina, they can be used either as doorstops, bookends or ornaments. As a pair, they are rare because of their size, and one is standing and one is seated. A member of the terrier family, fox terrier breed or Jack Russell. For your consideration is this Vintage Detroit Tigers Figural Cast Iron Doorstop. Doorstop measures approximately 8 3/8 tall x 6. Deep at the base. Piece weighs approximately 3. Doorstop is in very nice condition with only a lite rusty Patina on the Base. Tiger is gripping the Bat in the wide-grip style of Ty Cobb the most ferocious Tiger of them all. Pieces like this one are quite rare. This Doorstop is identical to the Tigers that were cast into the frames of the first and last seats of each row of the old Tigers Stadium. Antique Cast Iron Seated Hubley Fox Terrier Doorstop with Original Paint
Here is a great little piece made by Hubley, most probably in the 1920s. This antique cast iron fox terrier dog doorstop has most of its original paint has a lot of sharp details to its fur. Almost all that you find are standing. Original paint and patina that is in pretty good shape except that it looks like his tail was docked many years ago as you can see in my pictures. Please check out all the pics to judge the color for yourself. This little guy is very heavy for his size and weighs about 3lbs. And measures around 4 3/4″ tall x 5 3/4″.
