Vintage Cast Iron Doorstop USA Spread Wing Eagle Standing Two American Flags. For Your Old Ptriotic Cast Iron Doorstop Collection-EagleFlags1. Description: A vintage painted cast iron doorstop cast in the form of an American eagle standing with his wings spread open. There are to American flags emanating from the top of his head. There are the letters USA below its feet along the edge of the base. The eagle is looking to its right with the flags forming a V above its head. The doorstop is painted in green color with golden highlights throughout. The base of the door stop is red in color while the flags are in red, white and blue. The piece is very well cast as you can see. Look at the details of the feathers in the wings and the body. Look at the details on the eagle’s face where the bill and eyes depict a stern look. The piece, which is probably no more than twenty or thirty years old, is all original and retaining all of its original paint with minimal losses. There are a couple of small paint chips on the edge of the base and some rust spots on the bottom of the base. This is a nice size piece and weighs over three pounds. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of the description. Date: Uncertain, but most likely sometime in the late 1900s or early 2000s. Size: Measures 7 3/4″ at its highest, 7 3/4″ at its widest, and the base is 5 3/4″ by 2 1/4″. The doorstop weighs over three pounds and four ounces. Distinguishing Characteristics – Most Interesting About The Piece: This is definitely a nice and very colorful doorstop. It would make a great addition to your collection. Condition: This doorstop is in very good condition with no breaks, losses, or repairs. It is all original and retains quite all of its original coloring. This one is in “as is, as found, as photographed, ” what you see is what you get condition. This girl has her tail, but it has been tacked back on more than once. I have one with possibly original paint and guess what?? There is a metal rod that attaches her head to her body and when she is moved, her head nods. There is rust and remnants of white paint. There are no other breaks or repairs other than her tail. As I said, she’s heavy-14lbs. She measures approximately 13″ nose to tail and is 10 1/2″ high (to the top of her ear). She would be a phenomenal addition to someone’s farmhouse decor. Your friends won’t have one?? And you probably won’t see another one of these for awhile. VINTAGE ANTIQUE CAT DOORSTOP KITTEN HAND PAINTED CAST IRON HEAVY DOOR STOP. This is a nice antique cast iron cat doorstop. It’s in good shape and displays very well. ORIGINAL CONDITION AND PATINA. It measures 12″ tall x 9.5/8″ x 4 and weighs 8 lbs 2 oz. This is a big door stopper. My pictures are part of my description so please see them all very careful. I use either foam or bubble wrap to wrap the piece/pieces. I also try to use used boxes to give them an extra life before they are thrown away.
