This fine antique brass doorstop. Is nicely modeled in cast iron. Has ornate casting and original paint. Has a subject of carriage with four wheels, two carriage men- driver and horn blower, and is pulled by two harnessed trotting horses. Is marked on both sides of the décor N17. Has a flanged base for counterbalance. Is balanced and stands on its own. The doorstop has a very nice patina and has not been cleaned or polished. The design for this coach and horses doorstop was patented by Charles Tuteur of Chicago in July 1930. Tall x 12.3 In. Wide x 2.8 In. The estimated date is circa 1930. Condition status includes losses and flaws from the making, mold lines, normal wear and rubbing.
