Up for sale is a rare antique handmade early 20th century solid cast iron figural doorstop. It’s made of very thick iron, is a heavy piece, and has acquired a lovely patina from age. It depicts a human form with a lion head and mounted to an iron base. The doorstop measures 9 inches tall by 4 1/2 inches wide by 3 inches back to front. There are a couple holes on the base as seen in photos. Thank you for visiting “Dusty Treasures ” and please feel free to browse through. Which will be a charge of 7% due to New Jersey state law. RARE GREEN CAST IRON VARIANT FROG DOORSTOP COLLECTIBLE. This was a recent find that stopped me in my tracks. I’ve always loved these true antique cast iron frogs but this one has a very unique detail in the casting. Still present is the tadpole tail on this one of a kind doorstop collectible. I have not been able to source another one and fished through thousand of past auctions for an example. Would invite and most appreciate any info from other collectors on this special toad. Measures just under six inches in length head to tail and about 4-1/2 wide. Heavy old school cast iron. This one aims to please and would be a great addition to any collection. Multiple layers of frog green shown nicely in the pics. A dot cast iron application on the one under foot. Not sure if that was a foundry mark or other. All in all, no issues other than its a beauty. An antique painted cast iron figural horse door stop by the Hubley Manufacturing Company, American circa 1910. Substantial in weight and well modeled, retaining its original painted surface. Very functional as a doorstop or decorative as an equestrian sculpture. Height: 10.5 in (26.67 cm). Width: 12 in (30.48 cm). Depth: 3.5 in (8.89 cm).
