Antique Hubley Cast Iron Elephant Doorstop In Original Pearl Paint

Shown in “The Doorstop Book” by John & Nancy Smith on page 162. Antique White Elephant Hubley Door Stop Cast Iron Pearl White Cream Tole Shabby. This is a large antique Hubley Elephant Doorstop with Trunk up and Tusks. It has its original paint in pearl, white cream with pink open mouth. This is heavy cast iron in done in a two part mold. Apart from its minor age related wear with some paint loss on the tusks and body, it is in wonderful condition for its age with no breaks or repairs. This great Hubley Elephant Door Stop measures 11 1/2″ overall length, 8″ highest high. This majestic animal weighs about 8 ½ lbs and will be a wonderfull addition to your collection or will look great in your Hallway or Foyer on floor or table. Antique Victorian cast iron cat doorstop

A nice solid Victorian doorstop modelled as a cat. It is a primitive sort of design in that it has not been painted or decorated and is still in the rich black finish. It is heavy and weighty, slightly hollowed at the back and has Pat Regd embossed. Lovely piece of antique decor, it is in a good condition with no splits or rusting etc. Approx 7″ height, 5″ width and 2 depth. Cast iron with old paint decoration. Some doorstops were painted at the foundry while others were available without paint and could be painted later by the purchaser. “Mammy” was made by Littco Products of Littlestown, Pennsylvania who began making doorstops in the 1920’s and ceased production at the beginning of WWII. 218 in “The Doorstop Book”, Schiffer Publishers. ANTIQUE CAST IRON BOSTON TERRIER DOG DOOR STOP ORIGINAL CONDITION PAINT 1900 7lb

It has some big time wear. The paint is fading and the metal is rusting (pretty much all over). Nonetheless this is a pretty amazing piece of history. I would date this cast iron doggy doorstop back to the very early 1900s. It is 9.5 inches in height and 9 inches in length. It weighs 7.5 pounds. Dont miss out on this super cool antique doorstop!
