2 Scarce Antique Cast Iron Detroit Tigers Baseball Mascot Doorstops or Bookends

This is 2 old Scarce Detroit Tigers Mascot Baseball Cast Iron Doorstops or could be used as Bookends. Tis batting Tiger logo was on the end isle seats in the stadium. Each stands 8 1/4 tall. The 2 together weigh 6 pounds 7 ounces. I think they are from the 1930’s to 1950’s. One shows some minor light surface rust and the base shows some weathering light green paint. I’ve owned a few of these colored variations through my life, but first one to ever have the cat-eye still attached. Original surface, will clean – nice, no damage and the illusive eye. SCARCE Antique Hubley cast iron boxer bull dog Boston terrier pitbull door stop. Most likely made by Hubley from the 1920’s to 30’s. Good condition with some paint wear. Has a flat head screw so we know it’s not a reproduction. It’s about 10 tall and weighs 6.3 pounds. Curiosity Consignment: 7860 Beechcraft Ave, Gaithersburg MD 20879. A scarce and desirable antique cast iron doorstop of a seated Boston Terrier dog, circa 1920’s, as shown in Paul Hiller’s authoritative book on Boston Terrier Collectibles, on page 35. This is an original, not a reproduction, and comes directly from the private collection of a discriminating collector. We have chosen not to clean this piece in order to retain the original remaining paint, patina and yes, even the dust. The piece will arrive to its new owner as seen in the attached photos.
