Antique Cast Iron Heavy Doorstop Ship with Sails or Galleon Marked No 205

For Your Antique Cast Iron Doorstop Collection-SailShip21212. The doorstop has two feet on which it stands and a central stop which is what would stop the door in its place. The back also has two short prongs at mid height, which extend outwards and are probably to ensure the doorstop does not touch the door. Very nice antique doorstop, marked No 205 on the back, which is large and heavy. This is a nice size piece and weighs over 5 pounds. Please view photos as they are part and parcel of the description. Date: Early to mid 20th century. Origin: Uncertain but most likely the USA. Size: Measures 10 1/2″ in width and is 11″ high. The doorstop weighs slightly over 5 pounds. Marks: Stamped on the back “NO 205″. Distinguishing Characteristics – Most Interesting About The Piece: This is definitely a nice antique doorstop. Nice Antique Hubley Vintage Cast Iron Metal Flower Basket Doorstop Marked 818

This listing is for a single sided cast iron Flower Basket doorstop that is marked 818. I have found 2 others on the internet that were identical with the 818 marking that were documented to be early 20th Century Hubley. They stated that they originally had paper labels above the 818 markings. This door stop measures. Tall ” x 6-1/2″ wide across the base. 7-1/4 wide across the fullest part of the center. It weighs 6 pounds 2 ounces. Good overall condition with some light normal wear to finish. I see no cracks. There are paint runs on the back (see 2 photos showing the backside). Nothing more, nothing less. My photos show different sides. PLEASE VIEW EACH OF MY 9 ENLARGED PHOTOS WHICH ARE THE BIGGEST PART OF THE DESCRIPTION. THIS WILL BE PACKAGED VERY, VERY CAREFULLY. Vintage Cast Iron Doorstop Colorful Heron Standing Albany Foundry Company. For Your Vintage Cast Iron Doorstop Collection. Description: A very nice vintage cast iron doorstop. The doorstop is cast in the form of colorful heron standing. The heron has a gold colored head with some red colored highlights a white eye with black pupil. The heron’s body is colored in blue with gold and red highlights. The bird is standing on what looks like rocks. The doorstop has a flat base and shows the details of the rocks and the bird’s foot. The casting is very well done and shows details of the head, the feathers in the wing, and the details of the rocks. The back of the piece is painted in blue and shows the number “83” and possibly a “6” to its right near the base. The bottom of the base is covered with green felt and shows minor rust spots. A beautiful and rather rare doorstop worthy of a spot in your collection. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of the description. Date: Uncertain but most likely early to mid 20th century. Size: Measures 7 1/2″ in height with the base measuring 5″ by 2 3/8. The piece weighs about 3 pounds. Maker: Albany Foundry Company. Marks: Has the number “83” stamped on the back and possibly the number “6” stamped next to oit near the bottom of the back. Distinguishing Characteristics – Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a nice and uncommon old doorstop. It weighs about 3 pounds and almost and is in exquisite condition with minimum losses to the beautiful coloring. A beautiful piece which would display very well in your collection of doorstops. Condition: This doorstop is in excellent good condition with no breaks or repairs. It retains most of its original coloring (estimated > 97%) with minimum wear and loss of coloring. The colors are vivid and beautiful. The felt on the bottom of the base shows some losses, soiling and wear. There are a few minor spots of rust which are seen on the base but are not evident elsewhere on the piece. All of this does not distract from the piece’s beauty and quality.
