Antique Rare Hubley No. 268 “Parlor Maid” Cast Iron Doorstop by Fish. Marked with the Hubley number 268 on the back. Measures 9 1/4 inches tall by 3 1/2 inches wide. Anne Harriet Fish was hired in the 1920’s to do design work. In total she designed 7 doorstops for Hubley. # 269 – The TIGER. #249 – The MESSENGER BOY. # 268 – The PARLOR MAID. # 250 – BATHING GIRLS. # 270 – CHARLESTON DANCERS. # 222 – SMALL FOOTMEN. # 248 – LARGE FOOTMEN. Antique Lighthouse Of Gloucester Cast Iron Doorstop Nautical Dated 1925

I believe this is Easter Point Light Station. Signed & numbered: Lighthouse of Gloucester Mass. 8, Copyrighted 1925, by A. Greenblatt Studios, Boston, Mass. An eye appealing & historically significant doorstop. Very RARE & DESIRABLE with size and substance. 11 1/2″ tall X 9″ wide X 2 1/2 deep. 21.06 LOOKING FOR UNUSUAL, THOUGHTFUL & SPECIAL GIFTS? Following the arrival of the railroad in Gloucester in 1847 the fishing business exploded and the importance of Eastern Point Light increased. A new light tower replaced the poorly constructed original tower in 1848. Homer’s works depicting the scenery and everyday life of this maritime community are among his most famous. The third and present tower was built in 1890 on the masonry foundation of the 1832 tower. The 36-foot tall, conical brick tower is painted white. An enclosed passageway and covered walkway connect the tower to the two-story double keepers’ quarters, which was built in 1879. Eastern Point Light Station consists of the 1890 tower, keepers’ quarters, walkway, oil house and bell tower. Vintage Cast Iron Mary Quite Contrary Door Stop

Up for sale is this Mary Mary quite contrary doorstop. This doorstop is beautiful and very hard to find. This is quite tall and heavy. This would make a great addition to any collection. It seems to be in very good condition with no cracks or chips. The paint has chipped in some places but the cast iron is intact. There is one spot near her hand that there is a small hole.
