This rare doorstop was made by Sarah Symonds (1870 – 1965) who is famous for her American Victorian Era works. This doorstop measures 8 high, 5 5/8wide and approximately 2 from front to back. The paint is all original and piece shows the right amount wear for its age. Piece made between 1900 and 1940 and is very heavy. Wonderful antique small Hubley. Full figured doorstop , paperweight or toy is super rare and features the. Design of a black Halloween cat. Wonderful design and form. Perfect size for a child’s room. Ready for display or use. Unpackaged weight is 2 pounds so heavy for his size. Wonderful old figural doorstop with age appropriate wear/scuffs to paint. As you can see, the paint on one red eye has flacked off. No cracks, chips or repairs. Really a wonderful small Hubley figural. Please look at the photos carefully as they are an important part of my description. Most of my pictures are taken with a magnifying lens giving me clear, close up photos. This tends to also magnify minor flaws on item which many times cannot be seen on actual item. I strive to describe all of my items as accurately and honestly as possible however as items are pre-owned and vintage in nature, minor scratches and wear is possible.
