Vintage Cast Iron Cape Cod Cottage Doorstop 8 1/2 Wide -fine Original Paint

VINTAGE CAST IRON CAPE COD COTTAGE DOORSTOP – 8 1/2 WIDE -FINE ORIGINAL PAINT. A vintage cast iron Cape Cod cottage door stop, possibly made by Eastern Specialty Mfg. It measures 5 3/4″ tall by 8 1/2″ wide. The paint is original, in very good condition, with very slight rubbing and minimal chipping, mostly at the front edge of the base. It shows its age rather nicely, slightly soiled. Books will be sent Media rate in the US, unless otherwise requested. Antique Cast Iron Doorstop Colorful Elephant Raised Trunk & leg on Green Base

Antique Cast Iron Doorstop Colorful Elephant With Red Blanket Standing on Green Perch. For Your Antique Cast Iron Doorstop or Elephant Related Collection-Elephant2. Description: A very nice antique cast iron doorstop. The doorstop is cast in the form of an elephant standing on all four on a green colored half circle base. The elephant has its trunk raised to its forehead in a common elephant move. It also has a large red blanket or cover with gold fringe on its back. It also has its right front leg raised lightly up. The doorstop has colors including black, gold or yellow, white in the ear and tusk, red and green. The piece retains most of its original paint with some minor losses here and there such as on the blanket, the edge of its ears and the front of its raised leg. There are additional minor paint losses throughout. The back of the doorstop has black coloring and is stamped 33. A great looking piece worthy of a spot in your collection. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of the description. Date: Uncertain but most likely late 19th or early 20th century. Size: Measures 4 5/8″ in height with the base measuring 6″ by 1 3/4. The piece weighs slightly over 2 pounds and 13 ounces. Marks: Stamped 33 on the back. Distinguishing Characteristics – Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a nice old doorstop in excellent condition and retaining most of its original paint. A beautiful piece which would display very well in your collection of doorstops. Condition: This doorstop is in very good condition with no breaks or repairs. It retains quite a bit of its original paint with some losses (estimated at better than 95%). Most of the paint losses are on the blanket, the edge of its ears and the front of its raised leg. The piece is a bit soiled and would probably benefit for a good cleaning. It does have some minor rust signs to the bottom of the base. Be that as it may, the piece is just great looking and would display very well in your collection. Please see photos for additional condition information. Eastern Specialty Cast Iron Old Salt Fisherman Doorstop – Original Paint / Large. A cast iron fisherman doorstop. This is a large figure of a Fisherman in a Yellow Slicker and a matching hat with black boots. Standing on a rock/platform. His hands are in his pockets. This is cast iron painted. There are no apparent makers marks or other distinguishable markings. Stands about 15 inches high. 5.25″ W x 15.0″ H x 4.25 D. (no extra charge) Anyone into doorstops, fishing or just looking for something heavy to hold a door open, this is it! Vintage Cast Iron Doorstop Colorful Heron Standing Albany Foundry Company. For Your Vintage Cast Iron Doorstop Collection. Description: A very nice vintage cast iron doorstop. The doorstop is cast in the form of colorful heron standing. The heron has a gold colored head with some red colored highlights a white eye with black pupil. The heron’s body is colored in blue with gold and red highlights. The bird is standing on what looks like rocks. The doorstop has a flat base and shows the details of the rocks and the bird’s foot. The casting is very well done and shows details of the head, the feathers in the wing, and the details of the rocks. The back of the piece is painted in blue and shows the number “83” and possibly a “6” to its right near the base. The bottom of the base is covered with green felt and shows minor rust spots. A beautiful and rather rare doorstop worthy of a spot in your collection. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of the description. Date: Uncertain but most likely early to mid 20th century. Size: Measures 7 1/2″ in height with the base measuring 5″ by 2 3/8. The piece weighs about 3 pounds. Maker: Albany Foundry Company. Marks: Has the number “83” stamped on the back and possibly the number “6” stamped next to oit near the bottom of the back. Distinguishing Characteristics – Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a nice and uncommon old doorstop. It weighs about 3 pounds and almost and is in exquisite condition with minimum losses to the beautiful coloring. A beautiful piece which would display very well in your collection of doorstops. Condition: This doorstop is in excellent good condition with no breaks or repairs. It retains most of its original coloring (estimated > 97%) with minimum wear and loss of coloring. The colors are vivid and beautiful. The felt on the bottom of the base shows some losses, soiling and wear. There are a few minor spots of rust which are seen on the base but are not evident elsewhere on the piece. All of this does not distract from the piece’s beauty and quality. Antique Cast Iron Doorstop Black and White Painted Full Figure Cocker Spaniel

Antique Cast Iron Doorstop Black and White Painted Full Figure Cocker Spaniel. For Your Antique Cast Iron Doorstop Collection-Spaniel1. Description: Antique cast iron doorstop cast in the form of a full figured Cocker Spaniel. The dog is standing on all four legs with his tail stretched up and his head turned to the side. The doorstop is painted in white with black highlights on the dog’s back, ears and around his eyes. The dog’s ears are down as is typical with spaniel breeds. The dog is wearing a thin red collar which does not completely go around his neck. The dog’s eyes are nicely colored with reddish yellow surrounding a large black pupil. The piece is very well cast as you can see. Look at the details of his face, the fur on his ears, and the details of the fur over his entire body. The door stop is made of two parts held together with at least one screw, which we can see near the back close to the tail. It would seem that it should have a second screw but such a screw is not obvious. The one screw that we can see appears not to have been unscrewed in the past and we decided not to try to unscrew it to verify the existence of marks on the inside. The piece appears to be all original with quite a bit of its original paint remaining but having quite a bit of losses to the paint. This is a nice size piece and weighs about 6 pounds and 10 ounces. Please view photos as they are part and parcel of the description. Date: Uncertain, but most likely sometime in the early to mid 1900s. Size: Measures 7″ in height, 11″ in length from end to end, and is 4 1/2 at its widest. The doorstop weighs about 6 pounds and 10 ounces. Marks: Unmarked on the outside. Distinguishing Characteristics – Most Interesting About The Piece: This is definitely a nice substantial antique doorstop. It would make a great addition to your collection. Condition: This doorstop is in very good condition with no breaks or repairs. It is all original and retains quite a bit of its original paint (>70%). It does have paint losses especially on the back, the rump, the paws, and the face. The only issue we see is the red collar which appears to have been repainted and does not go all around the neck. Be that as it may, the piece is beautiful and worthy of a spot in your collection. Please see photo to appreciate the beauty of the doorstop and for additional condition information.
