To confirm that this is a Hubley with 100% confidence, one would have to remove the screw holding the two halves together and look for identifying foundry marks. Unfortunately, the screw is seized and cannot be removed without damaging the piece. It appears that a prior owner unsuccessfully attempted to remove the screw as the head is slightly stripped (see photos). All indications such as paint, casting finish and fit point to Hubley as the maker. Because we cannot be certain that this is a Hubley, we have priced the cat with this in mind. It remains however that this is a very good piece that would make an great addition to a collection or alone on a shelf as a display piece. It would also work quite well as a doorstop.
