An original Albany Foundry doorstop marked on the back with the number 94. An example of this piece is shown in “The Doorstop Book” By John & Nancy Smith on page 199. In good condition with moderate paint loss & crackling. Original paint with some nice color remaining. Measures 7 1/4 inches wide by 5 3/8 inches wide at the base and weighs 4.0 lbs. Antique cast iron dog statue doorstop Golden Retriever Portuguese Water dog look

Spectacular antique vintage cast iron dog statue figurine that is definitely heavy enough to be a doorstop. It will weigh just under 7lbs. There are no markings on this piece, and there is some normal surface wear and markings. It is 5 3/4 tall and just has a great look. Not your typical breed for a cast iron piece either. To me it looks most like a Portuguese Water dog, but also resembles a Golden Retriever or possibly a Poodle dog. Most of my items are used, vintage or antique and come directly from estate auctions.
