Antique Original Hubley #269 “The Tiger” Cast Iron Door Stop. One of the harder to find Hubley doorstops designed by Anne Harriet Fish. In total Fish designed 7 doorstops for Hubley. In very good condition with an early re-paint. Marked on the back with the Hubley number 269 and on the front side with the C in a circle and FISH. Antique Hubley Cast Iron Gladiolas in Vase Door Stop #489 All Original Paint

Very nice antique vintage Hubley cast iron door stop in all original condition. ” Gladiolas in Vase” #489. Produced in the 1930’s by Hubley Manufacturing Company in Lancaster, PA. Realistic detail and colors , open work of the iron and graceful urn shaped vase really shows Hubley’s famous workmanship. Marked on the very bottom back in the curve of the vase with the Hubley three digit incised number 489. I could not get a photo of it. Measures: 10″ tall X 8″ wide. Following the arrival of the railroad in Gloucester in 1847 the fishing business exploded and the importance of Eastern Point Light increased. A new light tower replaced the poorly constructed original tower in 1848. Homer’s works depicting the scenery and everyday life of this maritime community are among his most famous. The third and present tower was built in 1890 on the masonry foundation of the 1832 tower. The 36-foot tall, conical brick tower is painted white. An enclosed passageway and covered walkway connect the tower to the two-story double keepers’ quarters, which was built in 1879. Eastern Point Light Station consists of the 1890 tower, keepers’ quarters, walkway, oil house and bell tower. Antique Hubley Cast Iron Fox Terrier Dog Doorstop Extra Rare Front Facing Large

This stunning vintage cast iron door stop is Hubley’s model #381, which is the very rare larger sized front-facing Fox Terrier model from the 1920’s to 1930’s. The extra large profile measures approximately 12″ long by 10″ high by 4 deep, and it weighs about 9 pounds! It has excellent detailed workmanship from the tip of his nose to his toes. Even the fur is three-dimensional! The hand painted eyes, ears, pink tongue and fur have a beautiful patina commensurate with age. There are no cracks or other structural damage. The original factory paint is in wonderful condition with small chips (typical with this age of cast iron collectibles) as seen in the photos. This rarely seen size and orientation is a must have for any cast iron or doorstop collector, and dog lovers too! Please see my other listings for more antique dog door stops and collectibles.
