Has apparent paint loss, is a little bit darker when light is not so focused on it. Nearly 9in tall, base is approx 3.5 x4in. I placed the 3 pads on the bottom so it doesn’t mark up my floor.. I imagine originally it may have had green felt on the bottom. No markings that i can see. Really nice original doorstop. Check back frequently, i aim to list interesting and unique collectibles/ antiques and i like odd/unusual items as well. I usually have an assortment of coins and smalls/knick-knacks listed as well. Large Heavy Antique Kitty Cat Doorstop. This is a wonderful antique heavy cast iron doorstop in the shape of a cat with all paws tucked under and the tail wrapped around the body. It has yellow green eyes and a body that was once cream and black. There is some paint loss on the front of the body with less paint loss on the back and the paint is original. It is held together with the original flat head screw. It is unmarked, but I believe it is a Hubley. All in all, a really nice old doorstop. The cat measures about 12.5 inches long, 7 3/8 inches high and is about 5.5 inches wide. It weighs over 10.5 pounds. Recycled packaging material may be used. If your item should arrive damaged, is lost or stolen, please contact the carrier ASAP. I try to expose as many flaws as I see and take a lot of photos for you to view. If I accidentally miss something, please let me know. Or, if I inaccurately describe an item, I would appreciate your input. Antique Cast Iron Doorstop Hawk Standing on Brown Perch. For Your Antique Cast Iron Doorstop Collection-Hawk1. Description: A very nice antique cast iron doorstop. The doorstop is cast in the form of a hawk perched on what appears to be brown rock with large leaves next to it. The hawk is standing on the perch with his tail pointing down and its head looking slightly downwards. The hawk is gray in color with a yellow beak, yellow talons, and blackeyes. The base as well as the perch are colored in brown. The piece retains most of its original paint with some losses to the front of the beak, the edge of the base, and a few small spots throughout the body of the piece. The back of the doorstop has brown coloring and is stamped 78 at the bottom edge. A great looking piece worthy of a spot in your collection. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of the description. Date: Uncertain but most likely early to mid 1900s (early to mid 20th century). Size: Measures 6″ in height with the base measuring 4 1/8″ by 2 3/4. The piece weighs slightly over 2 pounds and one ounce. Marks: Marked with the stamped number “78” on the back at the bottom edge. Distinguishing Characteristics – Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a nice old doorstop in excellent condition and retaining most of its original paint. A beautiful piece which would display very well in your collection of doorstops. Condition: This doorstop is in very good condition with no breaks or repairs. It retains quite a bit of its original paint with some losses (estimated at better than 98%). Most of the paint losses are front of the beak and the edge of the base as well as additional minor paint losses throughout. The piece is a bit soiled and would probably benefit for a good cleaning. It does have some minor rust signs to the bottom of the base. It also lost one of the four round pieces of felt affixed to the bottom of the base. Be that as it may, the piece is just great looking and would display very well in your collection. Please see photos for additional condition information.
