Antique Cast Iron Heavy Doorstop Ship with Sails or Galleon Marked No 205

For Your Antique Cast Iron Doorstop Collection-SailShip21212. The doorstop has two feet on which it stands and a central stop which is what would stop the door in its place. The back also has two short prongs at mid height, which extend outwards and are probably to ensure the doorstop does not touch the door. Very nice antique doorstop, marked No 205 on the back, which is large and heavy. This is a nice size piece and weighs over 5 pounds. Please view photos as they are part and parcel of the description. Date: Early to mid 20th century. Origin: Uncertain but most likely the USA. Size: Measures 10 1/2″ in width and is 11″ high. The doorstop weighs slightly over 5 pounds. Marks: Stamped on the back “NO 205″. Distinguishing Characteristics – Most Interesting About The Piece: This is definitely a nice antique doorstop. It weighs over 5 pounds and has most of its original paint. Condition: This doorstop is in excellent condition with no breaks or repairs. Antique Cast Iron Doorstop Black and White Painted Full Figure Cocker Spaniel

Antique Cast Iron Doorstop Black and White Painted Full Figure Cocker Spaniel. For Your Antique Cast Iron Doorstop Collection-Spaniel1. Description: Antique cast iron doorstop cast in the form of a full figured Cocker Spaniel. The dog is standing on all four legs with his tail stretched up and his head turned to the side. The doorstop is painted in white with black highlights on the dog’s back, ears and around his eyes. The dog’s ears are down as is typical with spaniel breeds. The dog is wearing a thin red collar which does not completely go around his neck. The dog’s eyes are nicely colored with reddish yellow surrounding a large black pupil. The piece is very well cast as you can see. Look at the details of his face, the fur on his ears, and the details of the fur over his entire body. The door stop is made of two parts held together with at least one screw, which we can see near the back close to the tail. It would seem that it should have a second screw but such a screw is not obvious. The one screw that we can see appears not to have been unscrewed in the past and we decided not to try to unscrew it to verify the existence of marks on the inside. The piece appears to be all original with quite a bit of its original paint remaining but having quite a bit of losses to the paint. This is a nice size piece and weighs about 6 pounds and 10 ounces. Please view photos as they are part and parcel of the description. Date: Uncertain, but most likely sometime in the early to mid 1900s. Size: Measures 7″ in height, 11″ in length from end to end, and is 4 1/2 at its widest. The doorstop weighs about 6 pounds and 10 ounces. Marks: Unmarked on the outside. Distinguishing Characteristics – Most Interesting About The Piece: This is definitely a nice substantial antique doorstop. It would make a great addition to your collection. Condition: This doorstop is in very good condition with no breaks or repairs. It is all original and retains quite a bit of its original paint (>70%). It does have paint losses especially on the back, the rump, the paws, and the face. The only issue we see is the red collar which appears to have been repainted and does not go all around the neck. Be that as it may, the piece is beautiful and worthy of a spot in your collection. Please see photo to appreciate the beauty of the doorstop and for additional condition information. Rare Circa 1920 Antique Cast Iron Man Golfing Doorstop All Original With Paint 10 tall. 7″ long at base and just over 2″ wide. Has a number 238 on the back. Antique Cast Iron Civil War Union Soldier w/Rifle Door Stop Painted Blue. This cast iron door stop is in very good condition, with original paint. Has a few paint chips, one on the nose of soldiers face. Also on hands, rifle and parts of suit. Needs some fine cleaning, is dusty on bottom of stand around feet. This soldier is in very good condition for its age and how much of the paint is still in tact. Measrures about 7 1/4 tall. Description and pictures are detailed to the best of my ability. Antique Cast Iron Doorstop Colorful Elephant With Red Blanket Standing on Green Perch. For Your Antique Cast Iron Doorstop or Elephant Related Collection-Elephant2. Description: A very nice antique cast iron doorstop. The doorstop is cast in the form of an elephant standing on all four on a green colored half circle base. The elephant has its trunk raised to its forehead in a common elephant move. It also has a large red blanket or cover with gold fringe on its back. It also has its right front leg raised lightly up. The doorstop has colors including black, gold or yellow, white in the ear and tusk, red and green. The piece retains most of its original paint with some minor losses here and there such as on the blanket, the edge of its ears and the front of its raised leg. There are additional minor paint losses throughout. The back of the doorstop has black coloring and is stamped 33. A great looking piece worthy of a spot in your collection. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of the description. Date: Uncertain but most likely late 19th or early 20th century. Size: Measures 4 5/8″ in height with the base measuring 6″ by 1 3/4. The piece weighs slightly over 2 pounds and 13 ounces. Marks: Stamped 33 on the back. Distinguishing Characteristics – Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a nice old doorstop in excellent condition and retaining most of its original paint. A beautiful piece which would display very well in your collection of doorstops. Condition: This doorstop is in very good condition with no breaks or repairs. It retains quite a bit of its original paint with some losses (estimated at better than 95%). Most of the paint losses are on the blanket, the edge of its ears and the front of its raised leg. The piece is a bit soiled and would probably benefit for a good cleaning. It does have some minor rust signs to the bottom of the base.
