RARE ANTIQUE HUBLEY LEFT BOSTON TERRIER LOOKING FORWARD. Found at an estate sale. Rare Hubley antique cast iron Boston Terrier dog door stop. He is going left and his head is facing forward. He has some paint nicks. He measures approximately 10 1/2″ in height and approximately 9 1/4″ in length. No nicks, chips or cracks. Some very minor rust on one paint nick. Really hard to find example of a Sherwin Williams cast iron doorstop or figure. This is a chameleon for Sherwin Williams paints and varnishes. Hard to get photos of this awesome piece to do justice. Appears to have some traces of the original golden colour on the sides. He is marked to the underside “The Sherwin-Williams Co Paint & Varnish Makers”. Measures about 8″ at it’s longest by 5″W at front legs. Legs intact and tail as well. NO repairs or breaks. Please see pictures for more details. Feedback will be left once received. However, it is plenty big enough to have been used as a stop. The bookend still has great original paint, with it being about as nice as you will find. RARE PAIR NUMBERED HUBLEY CAST IRON TWIN LION CAT BOOKENDS ORIGINAL PAINT…. These are clearly marked with a number 273 on each base and a c within a circle on the other side of the bases. They much have the sleek minimalist styling of some Hubley Foundry line of bookends and doorstops i have seen but the markings indicate they also could be Connecticut or Albany Foundry. They are twin doorstops, i believe, due to each weighing over 8 pounds. Although they also could be bookends. They are guaranteed all original. And this black paint is all origanal. You can tell by the fact that, where chipped, no other paint shows and the cast iron underneath is that deep ruby red brown s hi owing the age, lovely.
