Vintage Cast Iron Doorstop Colorful Heron Standing Albany Foundry Company. For Your Vintage Cast Iron Doorstop Collection. Description: A very nice vintage cast iron doorstop. The doorstop is cast in the form of colorful heron standing. The heron has a gold colored head with some red colored highlights a white eye with black pupil. The heron’s body is colored in blue with gold and red highlights. The bird is standing on what looks like rocks. The doorstop has a flat base and shows the details of the rocks and the bird’s foot. The casting is very well done and shows details of the head, the feathers in the wing, and the details of the rocks. The back of the piece is painted in blue and shows the number “83” and possibly a “6” to its right near the base. The bottom of the base is covered with green felt and shows minor rust spots. A beautiful and rather rare doorstop worthy of a spot in your collection. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of the description. Date: Uncertain but most likely early to mid 20th century. Size: Measures 7 1/2″ in height with the base measuring 5″ by 2 3/8. The piece weighs about 3 pounds. Maker: Albany Foundry Company. Marks: Has the number “83” stamped on the back and possibly the number “6” stamped next to oit near the bottom of the back. Distinguishing Characteristics – Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a nice and uncommon old doorstop. It weighs about 3 pounds and almost and is in exquisite condition with minimum losses to the beautiful coloring. A beautiful piece which would display very well in your collection of doorstops. Condition: This doorstop is in excellent good condition with no breaks or repairs. It retains most of its original coloring (estimated > 97%) with minimum wear and loss of coloring. The colors are vivid and beautiful. The felt on the bottom of the base shows some losses, soiling and wear. There are a few minor spots of rust which are seen on the base but are not evident elsewhere on the piece. All of this does not distract from the piece’s beauty and quality. Vintage Cast Iron Doorstop USA Spread Wing Eagle Standing Two American Flags. For Your Old Ptriotic Cast Iron Doorstop Collection-EagleFlags1. Description: A vintage painted cast iron doorstop cast in the form of an American eagle standing with his wings spread open. There are to American flags emanating from the top of his head. There are the letters USA below its feet along the edge of the base. The eagle is looking to its right with the flags forming a V above its head. The doorstop is painted in green color with golden highlights throughout. The base of the door stop is red in color while the flags are in red, white and blue. The piece is very well cast as you can see. Look at the details of the feathers in the wings and the body. Look at the details on the eagle’s face where the bill and eyes depict a stern look. The piece, which is probably no more than twenty or thirty years old, is all original and retaining all of its original paint with minimal losses. There are a couple of small paint chips on the edge of the base and some rust spots on the bottom of the base. This is a nice size piece and weighs over three pounds. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of the description. Date: Uncertain, but most likely sometime in the late 1900s or early 2000s. Size: Measures 7 3/4″ at its highest, 7 3/4″ at its widest, and the base is 5 3/4″ by 2 1/4″. The doorstop weighs over three pounds and four ounces. Vintage Cast Iron Doorstop Colorful Cat with Blue Bow Sitting Up on Pink Pillow. For Your Vintage Cast Iron Doorstop Collection. Description: A very nice and rather uncommon vintage cast iron doorstop. The doorstop is cast in the form of colorful cat sitting up on a pink colored pillow. The cat is white in color with yellow eyes having dark pupils. The cat’s ears are perked up and have a pink interior. He has a blue bow around its neck and shows black whiskers around its mouth. The doorstop has a flat base and shows the details of the pillow including a rope along its edge. The casting is nicely done and shows details of the cat’s fur, eyes, mouth, tail next to its body, legs and paws. The back of the piece is painted in off white and is fairly soiled and displays no markings that we could find. This is a rather heavy doorstop given its size, it weighs over 5 pounds against a height of 8 1/2. The bottom of the base is is flat and is half oval in shape. A beautiful and rather rare doorstop worthy of a spot in your collection. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of the description. Date: Uncertain but most likely early to mid 20th century. Size: Measures 8 1/2″ in height with the base measuring 6 1/8″ by 2. The piece weighs over 5 pounds and 1 ounce. However, our research suggests that a The Connecticut Foundry made similar doorstops, but a bit smaller, in 1929. Distinguishing Characteristics – Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a nice and uncommon old doorstop. It weighs over 5 pounds and is in great condition with minimum losses to its beautiful coloring. A beautiful piece which would display very well in your collection of doorstops. Condition: This doorstop is in very good condition with no breaks or repairs. It retains quite a bit of its original coloring (estimated > 85%) with some wear and loss of coloring, especially at the edge of the pillow, around the eyes, and at the high points of the cat’s fur. However, its colors are still vivid and beautiful. The bottom of the base shows some soiling, spots of rust, and wear. There are also a few minor spots of rust which are seen on the body in general, but nothing of concern. All of these issues do not distract from the piece’s beauty and quality. Vintage Antique Hubley Cast Iron Bull Dog Door Stop #304

Made in USA between 1900 and. 7 3/4″ high; 6 3/8″ wide; 4 1/8 deep. Weighs 4lbs – 11 oz. No brand markings which is common and all specifications match Hubley. Littco also manufactured the same cast iron dog and used labels that inevitably would fall off with the passing of time. Littco supplied this cast iron dog in black or white and this items looks like it was originally white. Now it has a wonder patina.
