This pieces gives you strength, power & royalty feelings, it is a classic! 3/16″x 1/8″ in lower left area, some splits in the cast iron. I love the entire look of this piece, the lions mane is incredible, the overall patina & multi-color tones of the aged iron is superb! This could be used as a bookend. The small vertical rod on the backside I trimmed off about 1/4 inch to allow this to stand straight & stable. Perfect for any collection or display with any decor, it is a statement piece! Antique Hubley Cast Iron German Shepard Dog Doorstop Figure Statue

This listing is for the cast iron doorstop in the shape of a German Shepard that you see in the photos. It is not marked. Some research tells me that it was very likely made by Hubley sometime in the early part of the 20th century. Measured to the tip of an ear, it measures close to 10 ½ inches tall. It measures close to 12 ½ inches long. It weighs close to 6 pounds 11.5 ounces. The condition is much like you see it in the photos. I would say that it is in good condition with some paint loss. The paint looks original to me. There are no cracks or breaks or signs of repair. The black areas on the back look to me like original paint with the small areas of white being an undercoat. There is a small amount of rust. Otherwise, it is generally fine and as shown. My photos should give you a good idea of its general condition. I guarantee this cast iron doorstop to be as described and represented by the photos. The photos are part of the description. Please look at all of them. Please know that the lighting in my photos is uneven and that there might be shadows or reflections. The colors on my monitor look close to but not exactly like the actual colors. Different monitors may show different colors. I often say that an item measures or weighs close to because in my opinion no measurements are exact and some things are difficult to measure. Often, I have a custom made box for larger items and that might result in a short delay. When I use packing peanuts, they are usually biodegradable.
