This lovely looking vintage Texaco doorstop would make for a great addition to any man cave, garage/workshop, or even mechanic shop. It weighs roughly 2 and a half pounds (2 1/2) and stands almost 9 and a half (9 1/2) inches tall. It comes with a small metal foot to screw into the back to support the doorstop and keep it standing. There is no screw or hardware that comes with this doorstop. There are no cracks, bends, dings, or dimples in the metal. Please ask any and all questions before purchasing, thank you! RaRe Folk-Art Tom Breen Large 10 LB Cast Iron “Indian Summer” Door Stop. There is a website stating Mr. Breen Produced 28 Cast Iron Door Stops in the 1980’s signed “Indian Summer” such at this one. He passed in 2011 at 73 and was well known is New England for his Folk Art Pieces he produced some of which he did with a chain saw. This Door stop is of a very high quality and very well done. It’s big and heavy and could be a one of a kind for sure if only 28 different ones where made. See all my photo’s which show great detailing of this piece including it’s size and weight on scale. The hand painting is pretty well done also and is made to last. Condition Description’ Has some light wear but No Damage No Repairs. Packaged well No Worries. Very rare dog door stop in near mint condition. The family legend says it was cast in a small foundry here in York Pa in the 1940’s which is when the father brought it home. However all family legends aren’t the total truth as I just found it in the new doorstop book as being made by Bradley and Hubbard. I’ve had it in my personal collection for years. You won’t find a nicer one. 12″ long by 9 5/8″ tall. Superbly painted- excellent casting. The items I sell Might or Might not be from a smoke free home. Most items are used and vintage and smoking occurred in almost 50% of the homes in the US at one time. Don’t ask me to smell them because I cannot. 1 3/4 hours from Washington DC. 10 minutes off of Exit 4 of Interstate 83 in Pa. You pay them–I do not.
