2 Scarce Antique Cast Iron Detroit Tigers Baseball Mascot Doorstops or Bookends

This is 2 old Scarce Detroit Tigers Mascot Baseball Cast Iron Doorstops or could be used as Bookends. Tis batting Tiger logo was on the end isle seats in the stadium. Each stands 8 1/4 tall. The 2 together weigh 6 pounds 7 ounces. I think they are from the 1930’s to 1950’s. One shows some minor light surface rust and the base shows some weathering light green paint. Vintage Rare Detroit TIGERS DOORSTOP/BOOKEND Stadium Seat Baseball Cast Iron

Doorstop measures approximately 8 3/8″ tall x 6 ¾” wide x 2 ½ deep at the base. Piece weighs approximately 3 ¼ pounds. This doorstop was broken at the ankles (Pic 3,4,5,6). It has been repaired at the ankles by gluing it back together. It stands correctly and from the front is difficult to see. It broke along the tiger stripes. I was told to repaint the tiger stripes with black and it would be almost impossible to see the breaks but I will leave that up to the new owner. There is a small mark on the top of the base(Pic 7). Tiger is gripping the Bat in the wide-grip style of Ty Cobb the most ferocious Tiger of them all. This Doorstop is identical to the Tigers that were cast into the frames of the first and last seats of each row of the old Tigers Stadium. A nice piece to add to any Detroit Tigers Memorabilia Collection. Please look at the pictures. Large 17 Original Antique weighing 14 pounds in weight! Rare Circa 1912 American large baseball player Iron doorstop marked “OCF 1912″ on back in orig paint & great condition – 17 tall. 1912 17 inches tall. If you see one like this that does not have O. 1912 markings engraved on back then it is a replica. This one is ORIGINAL 1912! Baseball Player, Batting Stance, Iron, Marked O. F 1912 17 Inches. Original paint as shown with age appropriate wear and fine patina. Very good overall condition as shown. Great condition for its age and as you can see very minimal wear or rust on the IRON as I have seen many of these very rusted. This one looks great. See all photos as this is the actual item you will receive. This was my grandfather’s and he kept this in his clothes closet for many years. He was born 1900 and his Dad gave this to him for his bedroom. F was a Iron Company years ago and they manufactured IRON and did some door stoppers and statues. Rare Baseball Door Stop, depicts the Dark Town Battery bank but this is a door stop, Have not seen very many of these out there and the one that I have were in high end auctions, Google it and see what you find. Has some marking on the backside by the feet. Here is what I have found made around 1920, do go with the popular bank, Heavier then a bookend cause it was made for Doors, looks like it has been used as door stop.
