Striking primitive antique cast iron exotic bird or Parrot on stand and pierced base doorstop measuring 6-5/8″ tall, 5″ wide and about 2 deep. Weighing about four pounds, it has molded detail and retains the original primary color paint. Condition is good with no chips, cracks, hairlines, repairs or damage other than lots of paint chipping, rubs and wear – does not detract a bit. Gorgeous ANTIQUE BRADLEY HUBBARD LG CAST IRON PARROT RING ART STATUE SCULPTURE DOORSTOP. Guaranteed old and original with original paint on both sides. United States (Meriden, CT). Wear consistent with age and use. Overall the company patented 238 designs and mechanical devices. Bradley and Hubbard started out producing clocks, during the Civil War when. Markets opened west of the Mississippi. Throughout the 1850s and 1860s they added other lines of household. Goods including sewing machines, call bells and match safes. In 1859, with the discovery of oil in Titusville, Pennsylvania, B&H began producing kerosene burning lamps. Which eventually replaced whale oil burning lamps. By the 1890s B&H had showrooms in New York, Boston, Philadelphia and Chicago. Sears and Roebuck and Montgomery Ward. In the 1910s, 1920s and 1930s they produced a line of outstanding bronzed or polychromed cast iron bookends and doorstops from molten iron poured into sand molds. It is tarnished and missing a bottom. It also has rust, oxidation, peeling of paint, white paints, and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).
