Antique cast iron figural doorstop or statue with a bronze like finish or paint. This is the Hubley large Borzoi (also known as a Russian Wolfhound) #211 and is marked with the number on the inside of a back leg. Please note the screws used in the manufacturing process that can be seen on both sides. Antique item in good condition with wear and tarnish expected of the age and materials. Item manufactured in the 1920’s is being offered unrestored with its’ original paint. Inspection revealed no known damage or missing parts. Paint has the normal wear that is expected for an item such as this which is over 100 years of age. Connecting screw is original and appears to have never been removed. No rust and / or corrosion were found. Dimensions – Length 12″ x Width 3″ x Height 8. Antique Cast Iron Door Stops are very collectible especially when unrestored and in the condition such as this. This doorstop is a very hard to find Russian wolfhound that is the smaller version of the doorstop made by Hubley of Lancaster Pa. Incised on the inside of the one hind leg is Made In USA. There is a picture number two. This is a marking Hubley used very much on these castings. This doorstop is the most desirable of the two made by Hubley and measures 8 inches by 11 3/4 inches long…. Hese dogs specialize in pursuing prey, keeping it in sight, and overpowering it by their great speed and agility. They must be able to detect motion quickly, so they have keen vision.
