Vintage Cast Iron Bookends Log Cabin Cottage House 124 ALBANY FOUNDRY Doorstop

This listing is for a SET of Vintage Cast Iron Bookends or Doorstop Log Cabin Cottage House 124 ALBANY FOUNDRY CO in very nice displayable/usable used condition. The cast iron is incredibly smooth and of high quality like the old ARCADE TOYS; it’s definitely very old and the cast is of high quality. Identified as cast 124 of the Cottage House by Albany Foundry Company; however, identifying marks are largely unintelligible – likely original, but if they are reproductions, whoever produced them did a really really good job. The back and bottom are flat. Together they weigh in at a whopping 12lbs 8.6oz. Measures roughly 8.75″ across, 5.75″ tall to center chimney, and 2 front to back width. Obtained over 33 years ago; they have since been cleaned up due to light oxidation and repainted. Very nice piece for a modern farmhouse interior design accent/decor, vintage home display, and or collector of cast iron door stops!

Light fixture is untested and has a chip. Original paint in excellent condition with great natural patina. UNKNOWN MAKER, I have been picking antique items for over 40 years. And I have never seen one. In my time researching I could not find anything. Cabin appears to have bushes with blooming flowers or could be Christmas lights. Amazing find from a former Wildwood NJ boardwalk store.
