This is an antique cast iron doorstop made by. Stamped into the back are the letters BH along with the numbers 7795. It’s in the shape of a elf/gnome/warrior with a club and shield. It’s still in beautiful condition with no visible flaws that I could find, it does need a good cleaning though. Measures approximately 13 1/4 inches tall and 7 1/4. A Vintage Painted Cast Iron Flower Doorstop, Hubley Manufacturing Co. This is Hubley design No. 453: titled simply, “Jonquil”. Though technically referring to the fragrant. Common names for these trumpet-shaped, Springtime flowers include Daffodils and Narcissus. A hard-to-find and highly-detailed casting, this desirable Hubley stop will complement any collection. Retains original painted surface with correct stamp on reverse, near base: 453. No cracks or repaired damage; it has not been cleaned. See photos for complete details and close-ups. Here’s a very rare original antique Elf Under Mushroom cast iron doorstop with almost all of its original paint! It is marked N514E on back, but it actually looks like a letter B on the end to me? 7 1/2″tall x 6 1/2″wide x 2 3/4deep….. Very thick heavy cast iron….. Wonderful original paint has normal old aging and wear, but real nice overall. Excellent condition with no damage of any kind. I believe this is the exact Elf Under Mushroom doorstop pictured on a major antique doorstop site on “Identification of Antique Doorstops Cast Prior To 1948″. Look closely at the back and notice all of the intricate details of the paint, wear, etc….. I’m 100% positive this is the EXACT doorstop pictured there. This horse looks original. The paint appears to be original and there are no cracks or any other defects that I can see. I’m not sure about the exposed screw heads??
