Rare Pair ANTIQUE CAST IRON CHAMPION GREYHOUND Whippet Dog Doorstop Andirons. Offered for sale is this great pair of antique cast iron greyhounds. They are Victorian, the greyhounds are both champions of England’s coursing Waterloo Cup – Colonel North’s Fullerton (who won in 1889, 1890, 1891, and 1892) and Fearless Footsteps (who won in 1900 and 1901). I think they were intended to be doorstops or andiron guards. Please excuse the reflections in the pictures. SIZE: They are just over 10.25 inhces long, and are approximately 8 inches tall. They weigh approximately three and a half pounds each. CONDITION: There is wear to the paint and some corrosion most notably on the bottoms. Please see the close up pictures. MARKS: There are no maker’s marks, but one is titled “COL NORTHS FULLERTON” and the other “FEARLESS FOOTSTEPS” as shown. L photos below can be enlarged by clicking on them.
