GRANDPA RABBIT Tuxedo HUBLEY Antique vtg DOORSTOP Cast Iron Alice in Wonderland

Rare Grandpa Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland. Early version made by Hubley. Mostly original paint with possible old touch-ups to the red only. The red has an old, mellow patina and chips like the other colors so the red (only), so if it was repainted, it was repainted at least 50-60 years ago (or more) and now looks original like the other colors, which are factory painted. The red on the base was possibly green, but these were hand painted in the factory and often had unique color schemes, and we’ve seen one with original blue paint on the base, so this might be all original, we just aren’t sure. Antique Hubley Cast Iron Fox Terrier Dog Doorstop Exta Rare Front Facing Large

First of all please dont hesitate to make a reasonable offer. Im very easy to get along with and Im guessing that the people who might make an offer are people that are familiar with the age, quality, rareness and just from the picture that this is an authentic piece of Hubley at its best. Here is an extremely rare and becoming very difficult to find antique front facing Fox Terrier Hubley cast iron door stop. This 100 year old gem is Hubley’s model #381, which is the very rare larger sized front-facing Fox Terrier model from the 1920’s to 1930’s. The extra large profile measures approximately 12″ long by 10″ high by 4 deep, and it weighs about 9 pounds! It has excellent detailed workmanship from the tip of his nose to his toes. This type of workmanship is what makes Hubleys creations so sought after and extremely collectible. Even the fur is three-dimensional! The hand painted detailed eyes, ears, pink tongue and prideful workmanship is what makes this beautiful door stop timeless, highly sought after and forever loved. There are no cracks or other structural damage. The original factory paint has chips (typical with this age of cast iron collectibles) as seen in the photos. This rarely seen size and orientation is a must have for any cast iron or doorstop collector, and dog lovers too! My personal love for cast iron runs deep inside my soul. Im afraid that these kind of workers and companies are a thing of the past. This is why I love antique cast iron collectibles. Im proud just to be able to hold one in my hands and share it with other people who appreciate them as I do. If you have any questions please dont hesitate to ask. Also I have other very rare cast iron products I will be posting hopefully tonight. One of these products is even more rare and more meaningful to me than my Hubleys. Rare, antique sleeping black cat cast iron doorstop. Shows wear consistent with age and use. Some very light nicks on the paint/cast iron and one larger chip on the edge where the two pieces attach (shown in photos). Cast iron has a nice patina and displays well.
