Most likely they were on a stand or pedestal. Measures 18.5 tall. It use to be painted. 1 tip is broken but it’s there to put back where it belongs.

Antique Boston Terrier Bulldog Glass Eye Cast Iron Doorstop Gargoyle Dog Gothic

Antique cast iron doorstop with glass eyes. The eyes have been replaced in the past with glass marbles, the glass marbles are not original, there is some glue marks on the marbles and around the eye opening on back; there is also some visible hot glue if you look closely (see photos). One of the eyes is a little yellowed with glue residue when compared to the other, as is. The cast iron has some light rust, light surface dust residue, and there is a casting imperfection of an airbubble surface hole on one leg (see photos). 13.5 tall and weights approx. Antique Cast Brass & Iron Gargoyle Fish Door Stop 10 x 12 tall

This is an antique gargoyle fish shaped door stop made from cast brass with a heavy iron base. No maker’s marks etc. In collectable condition with normal signs of age and use wear. No damage to the metal ware from what I can see. The iron base is tarnished slightly. Could do with a good polish. Please see pictures for more details and visual confirmation of condition. 12 inches tall and approx. 10 inches x 2 inches on the base. My stock ref: U9. This is a superb 19thc architectural gothic cast iron winged gargoyle doorstop. Excellent attention to detail to this gothic doorstop. Wonderful detail to this winged gargoyle with forked tail winding around tree trunk. Lettering impressed to back of doorstop. Dimensions: 10.75″ height x 6″ width at base x 2 depth at base.
