LOT OF 12 CAST IRON BANKS DOOR STOP PASSENGER CAR KENTON SAFES HOUSE ANIMALS. HERE WE HAVE A LOT OF 12 PIECES WITH 11-CAST IRON AND ONE TIN BANK TO INCLUDE BANKS, ONE BIRD DOOR STOP AND ONE SKIDDOO #23 PASSENGER CAR AND 2 LOOSE PIECES. THESE ARE FROM KENTON AND A. WILLIAMS IN THIS LOT. THERE ARE 3 BANKS MARKED KENTON. THE HORSE BANK IS FROM A. THIS IS A PARTS OR RESTORE LOT. THERE ARE 2 LOOSE PIECES THAT ARE FOR BANKS. ONE IS MARKED BANK AND WAS MADE BY THE GREY IRON CASTING CO. THE OTHER ONE IS MARKED JEWEL ON IT. THESE PIECES ARE BOTH IN GOOD CONDITION. THEY HAVE SOME USE & WEAR ISSUES. THE 2-BIRD PIECES, THE SMALL BIRD PENNY BANK THE TAIL HAS BEEN BROKEN OFF. THE LARGE BIRD HAS A CHIP BY THE BACK WING. THEY BOTH HAVE SOME WEAR & AGE ISSUES TO THEM. THE SKIDDOO PASSENGER CAR HAS BEEN REPAINTED SILVER AT ONE TIME. THERE IS A ISSUE WITH ALL THE BANKS EXCEPT WERE NOTED ABOVE. THE ONE CHURCH LOOKING BANK IS CRACKED ALONG BOTH OF THE ROOF LINES & DOWN 2 OF THE SIDES OF THE BUILDING. THIS HAS A NEW STOPPER ON THE BOTTOM. I BELIEVE THIS IS A J. E STEVENS BANKS, BUT NOT SURE AS IT IS NOT MARKED. I COULD NOT FIND THIS BANK WHEN I SEARCHED FOR IT. THE RADIO BANKS ARE BOTH BROKEN AND MISSING THE DOORS TO THEM, THE HORSE BANK ONE SIDE OF THE HEAD HAS BEEN BROKEN OFF. THE RED SAFE BANK WILL NOT CLOSE. THE TAB IT HOOKED ON TO LOOKS TO HAVE BEEN BROKEN OFF. THE LARGER IDEAL SECURITY GREEN SAFE BANK WILL NOT OPEN. THERE IS NO COMBO FOR THIS AND IT IS NOT ON THE BOTTOM ANYMORE. THIS IS MISSING THE SMALL DIAL FOR IT IN THE FRONT BY THE NUMBER DIAL. THERE IS SOME WRITING ON THE BOTTOM. THIS HAS PATAPPL’D FOR ON THE BOTTOM. THIS WOULD BE A GREAT LOT TO HAVE RESTORED. Rare Antique Cast Iron Figural Light House Doorstop With Waves Crashing on Rocks

This is a beautiful victorian cast iron doorstop in the form of a lighthouse with waves crashing on the rocks below. It measures 9 3/4 inches high and 7 1/4 inches across base. The paint is very well done and appears to be possibly original. This is a great form which is rarely seen. It is in excellent condition see photos for more details. RARE Sarah Symonds Fence Cast Iron Doorstop Door Stop Peirce Nichols House Salem

RARE SARAH SYMONDS “FENCE” CAST IRON DOORSTOP. Sarah’s goods were made through very complex stages which produced fine details. She was a skillful marketer, advertising souvenir mementos for tourists. Symonds was widely known for her figurines and bas relief plaques of historic sites throughout New England. Her door knockers and doorstops are highly collectible, and their values continue to rise. This beautifully detailed doorstop depicts a white garden fence with an urn-shaped final. Behind and above the fence are blooming rose bushes. A brick walkway is in front of the fence. The inspiration for this doorstop came from the Peirce-Nichols House, a famous old residence in Salem. The house was built in the Georgian style in 1792 for Jerathmiel Peirce. In 1801, the house was remodeled and at that time, the front fence was crafted with decorative urns. The doorstop stands about 8″ tall and measures approximately 4 1/2″ wide. The back side of the rose bush portion is painted dark green and the back of the fence finial is painted white. The front edge of the walkway has remnants of the original markings, which appear to have once read “NICHOLS HOUSE” and SARAH W. This doorstop is pictured on page 162 in the book ” Doorstops ” by Jeanne Bertoia. It’s guaranteed to be an original Sarah Symonds doorstop and NOT a modern reproduction (this doorstop has not been reproduced). Condition of this vintage doorstop is VERY GOOD and much better than most examples I’ve seen photos of. The paint has some nicks, especially on the front edge of the base, but is all original with no touch up. Overall, this doorstop looks great and displays well.
