This vintage black cat heavy doorstop is a unique addition to any collection. Made of cast iron with an arched back and tail up, it is a sturdy and reliable door stop. It is perfect for those who appreciate vintage metalware and collectibles. Whether you are a collector or just looking for a unique piece to add to your home, this vintage Hubley black cat heavy doorstop is sure to impress. To confirm that this is a Hubley with 100% confidence, one would have to remove the screw holding the two halves together and look for identifying foundry marks. Unfortunately, the screw is seized and cannot be removed without damaging the piece. It appears that a prior owner unsuccessfully attempted to remove the screw as the head is slightly stripped (see photos). All indications such as paint, casting finish and fit point to Hubley as the maker. Because we cannot be certain that this is a Hubley, we have priced the cat with this in mind. It remains however that this is a very good piece that would make an great addition to a collection or alone on a shelf as a display piece. It would also work quite well as a doorstop. Height = 10 5/8 inches. Width = 7 1/2 inches.

Vintage Cast Iron Cat Door Stop 7.5″ x 5 3/4″ wide. This cat is heavy it weighs almost 4 pounds. Should hold a heavy door or kill your toe when you kick it. The paint is worn with metal and rust showing thru. The markings depressed on the back are a “Z” in a box on the left side and then the number “800” on the right. Unsure of those makers markings. We sell vintage, pre-owned, used items. They may not be perfect and may have a little wear from use. We will disclose any flaws we see to the best of our ability.
