HILTON HEAD HUMANE (HHH). VINTAGE/ANTIQUE CAST IRON BLACK GUARD CAT. SITTING ON TRAPEZOID BASE. DESCRIPTION : An impressive sitting, green/gold eyed, watchful, black cat perched atop a trapezoid base made of cast iron and very appropriate as a door stop weighing in at approximately 12 pounds 6 ounces is offered here. Although this piece does not have visible markings it has many of the characteristics of a Hubley design doorstop. There are some number-like markings at the center top of the piece but they are very hard to discern There is also a round screw head-like mark at the level of what might be a neck bauble. The cat has golden colored eyes that have a green tint. This piece, in our opinion, is in excellent condition with minimal signs of wear. We received and have listed a large collection of vintage/antique cast iron doorstops from a valued collector’s estate; be sure to check out our store to see them all. Our items have been donated to our thrift store and we usually do not have first hand knowledge of the item. We are also staffed by volunteers who are probably not expert in the item listed. A nice vintage bookend or door stop of a covered wagon. This is in overall fair to good used condition with a painted finish that has moderate finish loss. Has the mark 222 on the back. Measures about 13-1/2″ long and 7-1/4″ tall. Some minor finish wear, no apparent damage. Shelf B2/092923 – CO. DESCRIPTION : What an outstanding lion figure this is; the magnificent, strong, male, cast iron lion commands attention whether it be used as a doorstop or an object of art! This piece echos those popular in Victorian Era England. It is made of 2 piece cast iron; has a royal lion visage and is finished in a gold colored paint. Measuring approximately 7″ high x 9″ long x 4 1/2 deep and weighing 9 pounds 11 ounces this figure worthy of inclusion on a regal emblem is in very good condition with only expected wear of the gold finish commensurate with age.
