Antique Cast Iron Door Stop Rare Snowy Owl on Stump 1287, Judd Mfg Co, c1925 NR

A fine Cast Iron Owl Doorstop, Judd Manufacturing Co. Highly-detailed casting depicts a Snowy Owl perched on a Stump. Realistic original painted surface with superb attention to detail. Clearly marked on reverse 1287 / c(J)o. These Judd Owls are considered rare and highly sought after. See Internet or antique Door Stop identification books for comps. No cracks or repaired damage. Remnants of protective green felt noted on base for descriptive accuracy. There are some in-the-making paint drips along the upper left edge, see close-up photo #5 (these were decorated in the flat/ horizontal position). This stop likely had a pair of small rubber bumpers, lower rear (not present). Displays brilliantly and a true cross collectible; highly-appropriate for the advanced collector.
