RARE VINTAGE CAST IRON LIGHTHOUSE KEEPERS HOME DOORSTOP – ORIGINAL PAINT. One kind eBayer who is an authority on lighthouses messaged me and said that he believes this doorstop is a replica of the Bristol Ferry Landing Lighthouse near the Mt Hope Bridge in Bristol, Rhode Island. The lighthouse was completed in 1855. It was auctioned in 1929 the year the bridge opened. This wonderful Lighthouse doorstop is fresh from a New England estate! The doorstop features a unique lighthouse attached to a home overlooking a very rocky frontage area. I assume the light keeper lived there. This rare doorstop retains its original paint and is in good condition for its age. Some rust and paint chips due to its actual usage. Review photos for condition. This was from a large estate whose owner had a fabulous collection of all things nautical. This came in a lot with a few old Albany doorstops but as far as I can tell this is unmarked. This weighs three pounds without any packaging. Dimensions 4 1/8 T x 5 3/4 W x 1 5/8 D. I have searched the web to find another like this and have not found one. Thank you for looking.
