This is a very HEAVY cast iron recumbent LION… Very Royal & Regal if ever there was an item…. It is painted a red oxide like colour…. It could of course be painted any colour.. Say for instance you owned the RED LION – BLUE LION – WHITE LION pub or inn etc… Or any number of other theme bars, nightclubs or whatever… Or if you just want a substantial DOOR STOP.. This is the one for you. Its a flat back cast….. I do not know the age of it.. It has NO makers names on it etc… Or foundry marks as far as I can see. If you want to come and collect the item its cash on collection only…… If you are overseas you must appreciate this will have to be sent to you GLOBAL PRIORITY and that service is not cheap…. But its safe , secure and quick. This one is priced to sell…. And will find a new home soon enough. The lion is 28 inch long x 14 inch tall and the moulding is 14 and quarter inch wide from the back edge to the lions nose….. I cannot weigh it as Ive not got scales here large enough… But its not a lightweight as Sir Alan Sugar would say! Ive just compared it to a 4 stone – 56lb weight…. And its about half the weight of one of those.. So about 2 stone it weighs.. See the photographs which enlarge. Please see close up pictures for more detail.
