Some wear to the paint but really a lovely patina. Slight rust to the bottom. Center screw is rusted. Vintage hubley cast iron Monkey w. Wrapped tail doorstop 1930’s brown nice paint. A vintage monkey doorstop in excellent condition. The doorstop is made of cast iron. It does have some wear and some paint loss. Looks like all the paint is original. Has great patina, I have not touched it, could be cleaned up if desired. Made by Hubley, looks to be from the 1930’s or so. Monkey has brown and light tan with reddish inner ears. It measures about and 8 1/2 high. Great addition to your collection. Antique hubley cast iron monkey door stop original authentic hubley art statue

Antique authentic original Hubley cast iron monkey door stop. The only small conditional issues are that there are a few small white paint splatters around it because it was too close to something else being painted like a bedroom and little white dots are here and there. Not at all hard to remove but I just never got around to it and it did not bother me much. This is one of the very best condition ones i have seen. There are copies out there but it is very easy to tell the difference between them. It is about 8 inches tall and quite heavy. A vintage cast iron Hubley doorstop in the form of a full figure seated monkey showing the original painted finish, circa 1930. The monkey has a great facial expression and he sits with his tail wrapped around to form the base. The three-piece casting is held together with the original screw. Weighing 6.5 pounds. The Hubley Manufacturing Company was first incorporated in 1894 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania by John Hubley. The company is well-known for their cast iron novelties and their pieces are highly collectible and much sought after. This model is a rarer example. Light wear as can be expected.
