Only seen this piece a few times in my many years in business – this cast iron doorstop of the Minute – Man Monument in Lexington, Massachusetts. Marked on reverse as being made by Winlock Reproductions – originally Cast in 1925. History on this monument includes the following. It stands at the southeast corner of the Lexington Battle Green, facing the route of the British advance. Originally a functioning drinking fountain and watering place for men, horses, cattle and dogs, it was unveiled on April 19, 1900, the 125th anniversary of the battle. Very unique – again I’ve only seen a few of these in my many years in business – paint is old. Measures 7 7/8″ long by 5 3/4″ inches tall.
