Unusual Antique Scotty Scottie Dog Cast Iron Doorstop Boot Scraper

You don’t see many like this one. This Scottie dog heavy cast iron piece has in on a mounting plate and is approx. 7 inches tall, 7.5 wide and 3.75 deep at deepest point. It has some paint wear, more on one side than the other, rust, oxidation, white paint spots, I think, and other wear typical for the age, but overall good condition. The paint on the Scotty looks layered on and to me is designed to give depth–almost like a thin plaster appearance of layers. The side that has the most wear appears to be rust spots with no paint visible on those spots. Weighs almost 4 pounds. Please use all of the pictures as part of the “as is” description. I assume this was left outside at some point by prior owner(s); thus, the condition but frankly it looks like it wasn’t that long because there is still a lot of what I think is original paint on the piece but I cannot be certain of that either. I’m not an expert on boot scrapers or metal per se so I welcome questions and comments. I don’t handle him a lot so that I don’t damage the exterior finish. Vintage cast iron Twin HORSE BOOT SCRAPER shoe scrape DOOR STOP B. B. Butt Co

Authentic early 1900’s cast iron twin horse boot scraper. Marked “BB” on one corner which I believe refers to it being manufactured by B. The base measures 15-1/2″ long and 7″ deep. The horses are 8-1/2 tall. Very sturdy and heavy for its size. No breaks or repairs. Normal light surface wear. Photos do represent it well. Most items i list are from local estates and usually they are in areas of collecting that I have little or no knowledge of. I have for sale a genuine antique Dachshund boot scraper. It is made of heavy cast ironas one piece, not two pieces held together by a screw. 16″ long, 6 1/4″ wide, and 6 tall. The blade on the back is 8 long. All the features including the face, muscles, and the tail, are well defined/carved. The patina and the old flaking paint suggests that it’s a very old piece.
