VERY RARE, UNUSUAL, ABSOLUTELY AUTHENTIC, ORIGINAL, ANTIQUE, SOLID CAST IRON DOOR STOP IN THE FORM OF A GERMAN SHEPHERD DOG / GUARD DOG / or POLICE DOG, as shown! See all 11 images including close-ups AND see the 12-inch ruler in images for size perspective! Not marked anywhere that I can find but this is ABSOLUTELY AN AUTHENTIC ANTIQUE – possibly Hubley! OUTSTANDING – A VERY UNCOMMON GERMAN SHEPHERD DOOR STOP. In as acquired condition and has not been cleaned or altered – retains all original patina, paint, paint chips, tarnishing, and/or age flaws as shown; slightly moderate wear, soiling, and age-toning but essentially indestructible; much of the original paint remains but has many small to medium-sized paint chips and/or areas of loss of paint with some moderate tarnishing and spots of rust as shown (SEE close-up images); could use a good cleaning; overall in very good or better ANTIQUE condition! Antique Hubley Cast Iron German Shepherd Dog Doorstop X Rare Large Front Facing

This wonderful figural Hubley model #380 cast iron German Shepherd doorstop is the more rare extra large front facing orientation. It measures approximately 13″ long by 10″ high by 4 deep, weighs about 5 1/2 pounds, and it is in wonderful condition. The hand painted eyes, ears and fur have a beautiful patina commensurate with age. It has excellent detailed workmanship head to toe, and even the fur is three-dimensional. There are no cracks or other structural damage. The original factory paint is in wonderful condition with tiny chips in several areas (see photos), typical of cast iron collectibles of this age. This rarely seen size and orientation is a must for any doorstop or cast iron collector, and for dog lovers too! Pair Antique Cast Iron Dog German Shepherd Doorstops Original Condition Hubley

For sale is a pair of cast iron German Shepherd dog doorstops. They are close to a matching set but they are not quite identical. One of the dogs is held together with flathead screws but no screws are evident on the other dog. The one with the screws is slightly heavier than the other. Also the one with the screws is slightly more separated than the other. The one with the screws also doesn’t sit exactly flush on a surface but tilts a bit. I wasn’t able to find a maker’s mark on these, I would like to think they are Hubley but I’m not 100% sure that they are. Each dog measures 11″ long by 10″ tall. Please see pictures as there is paint loss on both dogs, especially on the feet. The one without the screws has more paint loss on the face and ears. Again, please see pictures for close ups.
