Life Size Cat Sleeping Cast Iron Doorstop Statue Art Sculpture 17 25lb Napping

Exceptional and RARE Antique Sleeping Cast Iron Black Napping Cat life size life like Doorstop. Excellent condition, well preserved! Approximate dimensions are 5″ Tall 16 ” wide, 10 ¼ long, appx 25 pounds. Little signs of use as doorstop, small white paint mark on side where she got nicked by door. Circa early 1900’s, less than 1000 were produced by Albany and National. It has been said that less than 80 are still in circulation. All were taken by the war efforts. For Reference See The Doorstop Book by John and Nancy Smith, page 112, high value. There 2 others for sale on line for double this price. Photo’s taken outside in sun, shows much glare.
